A couple of newsbits from today's wire services:
Are We Grown Up Yet? Study Says Not 'Till 26
Sun May 11, 2003 07:35 AM ET
CHICAGO (Reuters) - Most Americans believe someone isn't grown up until age 26, probably with a completed education, a full-time job, a family to support and financial independence, a survey said on Thursday.
The same survey in Europe would probably have come up with this: " Are We Grown Up Yet? Study Says Not "Till 36 ". Nobody would have been at all set-back by the title. What makes me so sure? Well, the second piece of news that impressed me today was the latest demographics for Germany: In 2050, germany will have lost 27 million people , or 33% of its population by today's numbers.
Also, the median age in the year 2010 ( tha's 7 years from now ), will be 51!
So what's all this talk of getting a Euro-army together in order to " counter-balance " US power goig to bring us? Do not worry, nothing at all. Just the idle talk of a group of old men and women.......
