Back from another "extended vacation" around the world... with a broken laptop!
While away, a war broke out, a mystery flu or pneumonia did the same in China, and I managed to get cought up in both, albeit only marginally.
Dinner with Senior French Diplomat last night, just an hour after landing..... a nightmare. Apparently they are now convinced that we are living in a new bi-polar world. The US on one side, with a handful of friends, and France brightly leading the other nations to victory on the other. I was informed of this fact, after my host pointed out a series of self-evident truths such as the superior economic strenghth of the EU Vs. the US, the cultural superiority of the Euro shore of the Atlantic Vs. the Eastern Seaboard of the US etc etc.The outcome of the struggle is therefore decided. The US is doomed, make way for France! An interesting experience none the less.
I went to bed with the thought and shivered all night long!
